It is More Than a Café—It is a Catalyst for Change

The Story Coffee Co. will be a welcoming, public café in downtown Rock Island—serving great coffee and a greater purpose. Behind the counter, young adults will gain job skills, life coaching, and a renewed sense of direction as they move from disconnection to confidence.

We purchased our new building, fully paid for.

Thanks to the generosity of several key donors, we were able to complete Phase 1 of this project without taking on a monthly mortgage. This achievement strengthens the long-term health of Narratives QC and ensures that more of our resources can directly support young adults as they build healthier, more stable futures.

This tangible investment not only moves Phase 2 forward but also directly supports the young adults as they gain workforce experience. This floor will be where young adults gather week after week to build confidence, deepen coping skills, learn life and workforce skills, heal from past challenges, and discover strengths they didn’t know they had.
